The MS42 ECU was used by BMW in the E46, E36 Z3, E39 and E38 with the M52B20TU, M52B25TU and the M52B28TU engines. These engines are Twin Vanos and were the updated version of the M52 which was originally found in earlier cars and the E36.
With these ECUs we are able to remove the EWS (immobiliser) making them completely plug and play, ideal for engine conversions, use of the engine in another chassis or just to take advantage of the tuning options we can offer below as a plug and play solution.
With these we can:
– Remove the EWS (immobiliser) (required to make the ecu plug and play. If not selected will required diagnostic tools to code to your car)
– Raise the rev limiter. Standard these are 6500rpm from factory. We have tested all 3 engines and they will happily rev to 7200rpm assuming it is well serviced and maintained. We would not suggest raising above this.
– Hard cut Rev Limiter
– ABS / VSS Fault removal. When the ABS has a fault with the OSR wheel, the ECU does not see a speed signal to the engine ECU restricting it to 5500rpm. This is removed from the ECU when this is disabled.
– Modify the thermostat to open earlier
– Set After cat o2 sensors to learning (meaning they are disabled if disconnected)
– Disable the Secondary Air Pump (or SAP)
– Tuning to allow for:
M54B30 Inlet Manifold
Decat
Sports Cat
Free flow exhaust system
