We have all heard about modern engines and problems with EGR valves, DPF’s and Adblue system faults.
Each one of these systems are fitted to vehicles to lower the emissions however, often if the driving style does not meet that suggested by the manufacturer these systems can fail, not work properly or actually cause more issues leading to higher emissions than if they hadn’t been fitted at all.
All of these systems generally fail due to short journeys, vehicles not getting upto temperature and additionally poor maintenance in the vehicles past history. Unfortunately they can be very expensive to put right when they fail and customers often look to have them removed.

Vehicle testing of these systems is often a visual inspection only however, customers should still only remove these systems if the vehicle is not to be used on a public highway).
