Although we specialise in BMWs, we can carry out this service on a number of other makes but for the purpose of this article we will talk mainly about BMW’s EWS (Immobiliser) system. It is worth mentioning not all makes and models use the same system so every ECU is different and the way to bypass it changes depending on the ECU.
Removing the immobiliser is usually done in one of 2 ways. The first is a process of re-flashing the ECU to disable this system. Unfortunately this isn’t always possible because of where it is referenced or how its embeded into the software. In these instances we look to fit emulators inside the ECU. These are soldered and coded to the ECU with the correct immobiliser information.
We offer a wide range of ECUs (BMW, Rover, Land Rover, Mini and VAG) that we can remove the immobiliser off. Cost depends on the ECU and part numbers on the ECU itself. But costs start from as little as £64.95 returned on your ECU (in the UK, additional postage applies to customers outside of the UK).
While we list a wide range of ECUs we can offer this service too on our website we may be able to help even if yours isn’t listed. Please send us photos of your ECU and your requirements to info@digital-tuning.co.uk or you can give us a call on 01244 710374
